Joyce M. Henry-Schargorodski, Esq.Joyce Henry-Schargorodski has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and a law degree from George Mason University received in 1986. Joyce was admitted to practice law in Virginia in 1986. She has been practicing law for almost 22 years. Family Law / Domestic Relations comprises 100% of her practice.

Joyce is a member of the Virginia State Bar (Family Law Section), the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and a very active member of the Fairfax Bar Association (Family Law Section). She is also a Master in the George Mason American Inn of Court.

Joyce has been a member of the Fairfax County Circuit Court Committee and the Domestic Relations Sub-Committee for almost 10 years, and has been the chairperson of the Domestic Relations Sub-Committee for the last several years.

Joyce has been chosen by the Fairfax County Circuit Judges to mentor law school students.

Joyce was appointed by the Fairfax Circuit Court Judges as a Neutral Case Evaluator (NCE). NCEs are experienced attorneys who attempt to assist other attorneys in settling cases set for trial. Joyce is also a conciliator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court and was chosen as a conciliator for the Fairfax Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. A conciliator is an experienced attorney who assists other attorneys on settling motions set before the court.

Joyce served as the Co-President of the Conciliation Program for 2 years, and has been on the Board of the Conciliation Program since 1997, nearly since its inception. Joyce spearheaded and helped to create the original Conciliation Program in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

Joyce served as a member of the Judicial Screening Committee for the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and as an alternate for the Fairfax Bar Association.

Joyce has participated in the planning of several Continuing Legal Education courses (CLE), as well as being a participant in the CLE course, as follows:
